Swimming Pools
No summer vacation would be complete without a (daily) trip to the swimming pool. Whether you are young or advanced in year, looking to get a couple of laps in, or just wanting to lounge around with a drink – we’ve got you covered. At Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa there are various swimming pools, heated and non-heated, to choose from. We also have kiddies pools for the little ones.
If you want to enjoy a poolside drink, you can make a pitstop at Piccinini’s Bistro before settling down.
Piccinini’s Bistro & Pub
Piccinini’s Bistro & Pub is the perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy your surroundings. Whether you sit by the log fire in winter with a heartwarming sherry or enjoy our famous tea and scones in the tea garden, Piccinini’s will certainly satisfy your needs and taste buds.
The Bistro is also situated right next to the farmyard and pool (poolside food and drinks are available) making it the perfect location for the whole family.
Iketla Wellness & Spa
Our Spa offers a variety of revitalising Beauty and Body Treatments. Be sure to include a session in the Kneipp Pool or Steam Room to make you feel refreshed, alive and de-stressed.

Farmyard
Sondela Nature Reserve is not only a wildlife conservation area but also still a working farm and as such a large number of farm animals and farm implements are to be seen on the farmyard.
The delightful laughter and obvious thrill of the young children who flock to feed the various farm animals during feeding times are a pleasure to see. From milking cows to petting the tame sheep or admiring the boastful display of a peacock’s feathers, the farmyard offers young kids an experience which they will not easily forget.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Piccinini’s Bistro or a cup of coffee under the spectacular Maroela tree while watching your young children enjoying themselves at the Farmyard.
MTB Trails
Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa is an MTB dream. We have about 70km of dirt road (single track and jeep track) that cyclists can enjoy. You can head out for a tough course that will test your endurance, or just have some fun. Kiddies’ routes are also available. Several large MTB races are held at Sondela every year and we are very proud of how much people enjoy them and their general success.
You are welcome to bring your own bicycle, but there are also well-kept bicycles available for hire at the Farmyard in case you forgot yours or just want to try your hand (or feet) at a bit of cycling.
