The training concept followed at Sondela Academy is one of Work Integrated Learning (WIL). The Coaching, Facilitating and Assessment of our students are all conducted in the workplace and integrated into the day-to-day functions of a fully operational RCI Gold Crown resort.

Year 1: Introduction to Hotel Lodge and Resort Management
This will allow the learners to get an oversight of the different departments in the industry and their functions within an organization. Upon successful completion, the learners will receive a certificate and credits for each department that they completed. At the end of the year, they should receive 7 – 11 different skills certificates.
Year 2: Specialisation Year
During the second year, the learner will specialise in their chosen field of interest. Prescribed courses include Education, Training & Development, Leadership & Management and Entrepreneurial Studies (Business Studies).
Year 3: Professional Development Year
In their final year, students function as first line managers in the workplace where they are exposed to and gain experience in, all aspects of management activities and functions.
All learning is supported by the Learner Management System, the electronic platform for all administration, learning, assessment and moderation processes which will allow the learners to complete their activities at any time from anywhere. An “offline” option is also available at an additional fee.
